In this technological world, many works depend on computer, right? In order to perform your computer related tasks with ease and quick, you must have most up-to-dated software and hardware with you. If you have been a user of Windows based system for quite some time, then you must be familiar with the latest version of Windows. Yeah, Windows 8 is what I am talking about. If you are not using this OS, then let me tell you that you are missing many incredible features and new technology that Microsoft has got for you. Thumbs up, if you have this latest Windows on your PC/Laptop.
Well, a few days back, I was going through the users’ reviews for the Windows 8. Many users were complaining about the absence of Start menu, and many others were complaining that Shutting down the Windows 8 is little complex. Well, both of these new changes are annoying me as well. No one is clear about why Microsoft has done so. There are many third-party start menu applications to solve the first problem, but what about the latter one? Do you want to get rid of it? Do you want to make the Windows 8 Shut Down process simple? If yes, then just read out the below section, as in this, I will tell you about how you can shut down Windows 8 in just one click.
How to Shut Down Windows 8 In Just One Click

The idea here is to make desktop shortcut and set it work as Shut Down button by giving it appropriate command. You might have gone this way to get easy access to any particular function. Whether or not you have done, you do not need to panic. Just follow the steps wisely.
  • First of all, take your mouse cursor to anywhere in blank space on the desktop, and then press the right click. It will open the right click menu.
  • In the right click menu, hover over to ‘New’. From the options that come up, select ‘Shortcut’.
  • A new window will pop up. In the location field, copy-paste the following command:
shutdown /s /t 0
  • Click on ‘Next’. In the window that comes up, you need to give any name to your shortcut. Just do it. To keep the things simple, give it ‘Shutdown’ name.
  • Click on ‘Finish’.
  • The shortcut is ready. Let’s assign it a good icon. For this, just right click on this newly created shortcut. Select ‘Properties’. Click on ‘Change Icon’ option. Select the icon that is default symbol of shutdown. Of course, you can choose any of your choice.
  • Your one click ‘Shut Down’ button is ready. Now right click on it and select ‘Pin to Start’. You can pin it to Task-bar and Start Screen as well. I would recommend pinning it to all of these three, so as to make it easily accessible.
  • That’s all done.
So, from now on, whenever you want to shut down Windows 8, just click on this ‘one click shut down button’ that you just created.
