7 Things (Other Than Porn) You Will Enjoy Searching On YouTube!

By on 13:42
People Enjoy searching two kinds of things on youtube
  1. Porn
  2. Entertainment Stuff (Songs, movies etc.)
and you know the admin of this blog, he loves watching porn but doesn’t talk about it on his blog. :-D
Whatever, I’ll keep talking.
YouTube, as we all know, is the website for watching and sharing videos. It’s by Google and you probably visit it everyday! I’m here to tell you about some fun-things you can do on YouTube. These “fun-things” are called Easter eggs.
Google has a history of adding Easter eggs into its products and YouTube is no exception. The term “Easter eggs” means an unexpected feature [in a piece of computer software] included as a joke or a bonus!
Most of these Easter eggs were introduced during the occasion of the first YouTube Geek Week. They are nothing but terms that you will search on YouTube and some unexpected thing will happen!  You can show it off to your friends or girlfriend(s) and act cool ;)
‘Nuff said! Let’s get to business!

‘Ponies’ or ‘Bronies’

ponies
Go to youtube.com and search for one of these terms after removing the quotes. “ponies” or “bronies”, You will see some ponies running around the search results! These ponies are actually from a cartoon show called “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” (Wikipedia Link). Also, searching the names of many characters from this show will cause the top bar to become the same color as the character. Example: try searching “Rainbow Dash”

/ techy waky blog

inside tech tricks
Searching for /[space]techy waky blog will make the search results appear in the Unix terminal style! Impressive, right? It actually works for any search term starting with “/ ” :-)

Fibonacci

fibonacci
Searching for “fibonacci” will arrange the search results in a tiled effect in accordance to the mathematical sequence “fibonacci”. In mathematics, fibonacci series are numbers in this integer sequence: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and so on…
Here’s a quiz for you guys, can you identify the pattern in the above sequence of numbers? Leave a comment with your answer ;)

Use the force, Luke

use the force luke
Searching for “use the force luke” will put a wavy effect on the search results. Also try moving your mouse, the entire screen will fly accordingly! If you are a Star Wars fan, you must be familiar with the quote “Use the force, Luke”. It was a said by Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke in Star Wars IV – A New Hope.

Beam me up, Scotty

beam me up scotty
Star Trek fans, the one’s dedicated to you! Searching for “beam me up scotty” will echo the classic Star Trek effect by ‘beaming’ the videos onto the results page.
The popular catchphrase, “Beam me up, Scotty” comes from the command Captain Kirk gives his chief engineer, Scotty, when he needs to be transported back to the Starship Enterprise!

Do the harlem shake

do the harlem shake
This one’s my personal favorite. Searching for “do the harlem shake” will cause the page to do the “Harlem Shake”. It can be muted and paused. I won’t explain it much, go and see it for yourself!

1980 – Play Missile Command game on YouTube!

1980
Okay, this is not a thing to be searched but it’s awesome anyway! Typing “1980″ while viewing a video pagewill play a game called “Missile Command”. You have to save the video from getting destroyed by missiles! The trick here is to just click on the white space on the page and type 1980 (not in the search or comment box!)

Your turn, Have fun

All the above tricks can also be considered a proof of how creative Google is! Adding these small little Easter eggs resonating to popular TV shows and games makes us (it’s customers) so happy!
I personally loved “do the harlem shake” and missile game the most! Which one was your favorite? Do you know any other cool things about YouTube? Feel free to share it with us via comments. :-D
