Facebook, according to Statistic Brain, has over 1.3 billion users,
and each user has an average of 130 friends added. Now 130 friends can
be a lot. It’s most likely that there are a few of them with whom your
relationship degraded over the years, or didn’t get to know properly. If
they are your friend today, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they will
be tomorrow.
Some friends might unfriend you on Facebook. And they might not tell you. You might start wanting to know the reason why you’re worthy of not being a friend anymore. The first step to finding that out is to actually know when you’ve been de-friended, and that’s not always easy. Normally, you’d directly go to his/her’s profile and check if you’re added as a friend of not. In some cases though, this won’t work. They might have blocked you too.
Luckily, if you’re a Google Chrome user, there’s an extension for that. It’s called “Unfriend Notify for Facebook“, and does exactly what it says – it notifies you whenever someone removes you from their precious friend list on Facebook. It really, really doesn’t get any simpler that that.
The extension also seamlessly integrates into the Facebook website. Once you’ve installed the extension, you’ll see a new count next to your friends, dubbed “Lost Friends”.
If someone removes you on Facebook, they will show up in this “Lost Friends” column, which will only be visible to you, not to anyone else. The thing that you need to take care of is not to get emotional when someone removes you on Facebook. After all, that can become worrisome.
Unfortunately, some of the reviews in the Chrome Web Store have regarded the extension as “useless”, and that it breaks down on other websites. For us though, the app was working fine, and did what it was supposed to do. Sometimes, we do hope we never, ever get another notification from this extension again.
Unfriend Notify for Facebook is available for free in the Chrome Web Store. Be sure to check it out.
How do you feel about being unfriended on Facebook? Did this extension work for you? Be sure to tell us below in the comments.
